Meebox Nov '17 - Through The Looking Glass, Review + Nail Art

So it finally happened, the cold/flu that everyone has had recently has caught up with me, and I'm regretting all the time that I was well and didn't appreciate it (you know the feeling I mean). Before I slip into a deep sleep (... I wish) I want to show you the latest Meebox*. This month's theme was Through The Looking Glass*. I was asked to review it because 'it has my name written all over it' but it really does, and I find it hard to turn down anything Alice in Wonderland related! This month box is worth a whopping £54.22, so you're definitely getting value for money. It includes:

Zoya - Saint* (£13)
iZ Beauty London - Front Row* (£6)
iZ Beauty London - Wonderland Inspired Decals* (£2)
Sally Hansen - Sleigh All Day + Miracle Gel Topcoat* (£14.99)
MoYou London - Alice 04 Stamping Plate* (£5.99)
Clear Jelly Crystal Clear Stamper* (£7.24)

I wanted to try and use everything from the box but in the end I used everything except the Sally Hansen polishes, which wasn't too bad going.

Born This Way - Meebox August '17 Nail Art + Review

Hey everyone! It feels like forever since I last reviewed a Meebox*, in reality it's only a couple of months. This month's box is their 2 year anniversary edition, and they've totally smashed it, as always. The theme is 'Born This Way'* and is of course inspired by Lady Gaga. For just £20 the box contains products worth a whopping £35 (plus what would be £5 postage!):

Meebox - The Grape Escape Nail Varnish Remover
Color Club - Pure Energy
True Brit - Etiquette
Ard As Nails - I Love You Hunny Bunny
House of Wonderland - Born This Way Decals (exclusive)

When I started these nails I knew I wanted to do something bold to highlight both Meebox and Lady Gaga. But, do you ever have one of those days where every design you try just wont work out? Have you ever tried coupling that with a sprained wrist? Welcome to my weekend.

I really tried to make this what I wanted it to be, but I just couldn't get the water decals working. Every single time I pulled them out of the water I got them caught up in each other, and after a number of attempts I decided it would just be easier to paint the eyes instead. This is totally my fault and not because of the decals, it was only my second time ever using them after all.

I'm not 100% on how these turned out, although in person they seem to stand out much more. Let me know what you think.

Soft Scoop - Meebox April '17 Nail Art + Review

Hey everyone! Here's the second of the two Meebox reviews I promised you. This one is slightly more delayed than the last, especially as this was actually technically April's box, but nevertheless it still had some gorgeous polishes in that I wanted to showcase for you, albeit slightly later than I would have liked. April's Soft Scoop Box* included £42.98 worth of products, which is a bargain when the box is only £20 (or even less if you sign up for a few months). What I love about Meebox is that it pushes me to try out brands I wouldn't usually, or who I've never even heard of. This time it contained:

IZ Beauty - Baby Blue
Trust Fund - Do you Know Who Your Father Is
Model's Own - Banana Split
Zoya - Matte Top Coat
Whats Up Nails Decals
Whats Up Nails Confetti

I like to set myself the challenge of trying to use all the products from the box, but unfortunately I couldn't decide on a design that showcased the confetti, but otherwise all the products are included in the nail art.

Lost City - Meebox May '17 Nail Art + Review

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I did a review of Meebox thanks to my unscheduled break, so I actually have two different boxes to show you at the moment, the first of which is the 'Lost City' Meebox* from last month. When this landed on my doorstep I was a bit stumped on what to create with the contents of the box, which were:

Annika - Blue Lagoon
Cuccio - Pier Pressure
Ruby Wing - Hello Sailor
NCLA - Take It Off Soy Remover Sheets
House of Wonderland Decals (exclusive to Meebox)

Worth more than £40 in value (despite the box only costing £20 a month, or £18 if you pay for 3 months), they're definitely worth trying out if you haven't already. All these brands were completely new to me, and pushed me to create something I wouldn't usually do.

Anyway, I was struggling to come up with a design so I decided to completely wing it. I've never used water decals before so I started with those on top of the Cuccio polish, and I accented with Ruby Wing - Hello Sailor over Pier Pressure. Then I decided to play around with striping tape, and by the end of it I really loved the result, and I hope you do too!

Galentine's Manicure Day with Meebox

Hey everyone! A slightly different post than usual today. This months Meebox* is Galentine's themed, and I knew when I received it that I wanted to have a pamper day with my best friend Nat to celebrate it. So today, on Galentine's day itself, we had a nice pamper session and we did each others nails. It takes a lot for me to let someone paint my nails, I barely even let nail technicians paint my nails nevermind my friends but I let her loose on my nails and she did a surprisingly good job.

No Place Like Home - Meebox December Review + Nail Art

Hey everyone! I'm back with another Meebox review, this month's (well, last month's) box was themed 'No Place Like Home'*, and is of course based on the Wizard of Oz. It includes an amazing £63 worth of products for just £20, which include:

Kure Bazaar – Pigalle (RRP £14)
Zoya Goldie (RRP £11.50)
Leighton Denny – Jailbird (RRP £12)
MoYou Fairy Tale Stamping Plate (which is Wizard of Oz themed) – (RRP £5.99)
MoYou Stamper- (RRP £2.99)
NCLA Gingham nail wraps (RRP £13)
Ard as Nails – cuticle oil (RRP £5)

I love that there's always a theme to each box, but I think this might be my favourite theme so far. And of course there was no option but for me to create some Wizard of Oz nails with the polishes, I used all the products for this nail art, they all went so well together I couldn't resist.

All That Glitters - Meebox November Review + Nail Art

Hey everyone! Everything is still super busy in my life, I'm moving house next Friday and I haven't even starting packing yet because I've barely stopped! And I've stupidly agreed to host people from work tomorrow evening at my house... why did I do that?! So as I'm sure you can imagine things are a bit hectic and blogging is having to take a bit of a backseat, but today I have a treat for you with this review of the gorgeous November Meebox, this month's theme is 'All That Glitters'* so of course it's absolutely chocka block full with glitter. This month's box contains:

Little Ondine - Rumba*: £11
A England - Crown of Thistles*: £11
Floss Gloss - Dime Piece*: £7.50
MeeBox Holo paper*: £2
Naio Nails Glitter pot*: £1.10

So it has a total value of £32.60 but it costs just £20, you can't really go wrong with that!

I was trying to debate what I could do to use all the products in the box, in the end I realised I would have to sacrifice at least one product and that had to be Little Ondine - Rumba, but I used the rest of the products in the box to create this fun glitter heart design.

Here's a quick shot of all the gorgeous products in the box!

To get your hands on next month's 'Wizard of Oz' themed Meebox, worth a staggering £60.. for just £20, you can visit their website, but be quick, it's going to go fast!

What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

Pumpkin Spice - Meebox October Review + Nail Art

Hey everyone! Hope you're all having a good week so far, this is my first 5 day week at work in a few weeks so it's feeling like it's dragging a bit. Today I've got a review of the October Meebox* for you. This is my fourth review of the monthly subscription box, you can see all my previous reviews here. Each month comes with a new theme, and this months theme is Pumpkin Spice*, just in time for Halloween. Each months box costs £20 if you subscribe on a month to month basis, or you can subscribe for 3 months and it costs £18 a month. This might sound like a lot but you get so much value out of a box that it's well worth it. This months box includes:
- Crabtree & Evelyn - Clementine (RRP £6)
- Lauren B - Nude 01 (RRP £11)
- Leighton Denny - Venus Desire (RRP £12)
- Bundle Monster Giant Stamper & Stamping plate (RRP £12)
With a total value of £41 you're definitely getting a lot for your money. I also like the surprise element of it, and also that there's always at least one nail art look to create out of the products you receive. And, even with an extensive collection such as mine I've only ever encountered one duplicate shade to one I own in a Meebox, which isn't too bad going. This month they were all pretty much new brands to me, except for Leighton Denny. I was also intrigued (and a little intimidated) by the giant stamper from Bundle Monster which I ended up loving once I got the hang of it. I know my stamping skills aren't the best and I don't claim for them to be, but I wanted to give the plate a try nonetheless.

June Splash Meebox Review + Nail Art

Hey everyone! Today I've got another Meebox* to review for you. You can see my previous two reviews of the February and April boxes here. June's box is themed 'Splash' and is a mermaid-inspired box. It's a unique one, because it's entirely made up of indies. The 3 polishes, whilst usually a mix of different brands (both indie and regular), are this time all from A-England, the shades are: Whispering Waves, Gloriana, and The Blessed Damozel. The box also contains:

Mess No More liquid nail tape from Mini Mani Moo Nails
Fishscale nail stencils from Nail Mail
Starfish and Conch Shell studs from She Sells Sea Shells (which is apparently also a tongue twister when I try and spell it because I wrote that wrong 3 times!).

There's also a couple of unique discount codes in the box too. For £20 a month you couldn't ask for more really, you're definitely getting value for money as the A-England polishes alone are worth £11 each, so that's £33 before you've even considered the rest. Mess No More is worth £10, the stencils £4 and the studs £3 so you're getting far beyond what you've paid for. Subscription boxes are nothing new, but to have a brand that consistently delivers value for money is rare, and in my experience of Meebox so far, and what I've seen on their Instagram for month's I've not reviewed, they consistently deliver. Of course I had to create some nail art with them. I didn't use the stencils (admittedly I completely forgot until it was too late) but I've used them in another design that you'll see soon.

Hitched - April Meebox Review + Nail Art

Hey everyone! This weekend in the UK was the May bank holiday weekend, so we've had a nice three-day weekend. It's been great to have that extra time off but I'm actually more tired than I should be as I didn't get to sleep until 3 last night. Today I've genuinely spent the whole day re-watching Sherlock and not doing much else really because I was too tired to contemplate being productive.

Today's review is of the April Meebox*. Meebox is a monthly subscription box (you can see my previous review of February's box here) I must stop you before you roll your eyes and say 'another subscription box?' because Meebox's stand out from the crowd in my opinion and are consistently great. I've been really impressed with both boxes I've received (and other boxes I've seen across social media that I haven't received). For just £20 a month you're getting value for money, this month's box would total almost £40.

Each month the box has a theme, and this month's theme is 'Hitched', their first bridal theme. Each month you are emailed what the theme will be on the 1st of the month, and you can choose whether or not you would like to receive the box. There's no contract, you can opt in and out whenever you want, and I think that freedom makes them quite unique. I decided to create these simple heart stamped nails with some of the products from this month's box (read on after the jump to see the products).

Meebox Review: Gold Glitter Roses

Hey everyone! Today I'm showcasing a 'new' subscription box: the Meebox*. I say 'new' because they've been around for a few months now but they're new to me, and my first experience was definitely a positive one. Each box contains "at least three top brand and indie nail polishes, essential tools, vital treatments and stunning nail art supplies".

In this Meebox* I got Smith and Cult - Porn-a-thon (RRP £19), Leighton Denny - Feel The Burn (RRP £11), Nails Inc - Chelsea Embankment (RRP £14), Sparkly Nails Square Studs (RRP £1.50), plus three swatch sticks. Some lucky buyers also got a bottle of Chanel polish in their box, but unfortunately I wasn't one of them! Meebox is £20 for a rolling subscription, or £54 for 3 months. Each month has a new theme, this month's theme was 'Red Carpet.'

I decided to create some nail art with the polishes I was received, I didn't use the studs because once I tried to add them to the design I decided they didn't really work, but the other polishes were all used. I wanted to experiment with a different kind of rose design, I'm still trying to perfect roses, I've done them very similarly for years but I never feel satisfied with them. I was really proud of how these turned out but there's still some work to do too.
