Paisley Print

Hey everyone! I'm enjoying (in my opinion) a well deserved break at the moment, so I should hopefully get a few nail designs done!

Today's post is a bit weird, in fact I'll let you see them first...

... it looks like I have lots of skill (kind of), but really I just did them with a gel pen, that's right: a pen! I was super bored in my lecture, and I had plain nails from my glow in the dark nails post, and of course I hate plain nails. I normally doodle tonnes on my notes, but for some reason decided it would be a good idea to draw on my nails instead.

When I was done I took a picture and uploaded it to my Instagram (@onenailtorulethemall) and Twitter (@onenailtorule) because I was convinced they were going to smudge before I got back to my flat (this was in the morning) and before I could get a better picture, BUT THEY DIDN'T. I can't believe it, all the previous times I've done this in lessons I've wiped it off straight away, because I didn't think it lasted. There's a slight amount of tipwear but nothing major, and I even managed to top coat it! Now I have a wonderful new technique for thin and intricate designs, and I can't wait to use it in more posts! (It's not cheating is it?)

I hope you liked this post!
Let me know what you think in the comments, is it cheating?

  5. So not cheating...it's more or less like using a nail art pen, no? They're still amazing haha - I was sort of hoping they were stamped so I wouldn't be as insanely jealous of your mad skills haha. x

    1. Nope not at all, probably mainly because I had a base colour but it just wiped off straight away with nail varnish remover and didn't leave any signs of it having been there :)

  15. I often use liquid eyeliner for nail designs - very easy to use, and if you go wrong, you can remove it without ruining your mani!

  17. I bought a sharpie specifically for nail art and I was soooo disappointed when it bled as soon as I seche vite'd! But.... My bf uses acrylic pens for his art and I have discovered that the fine liners are perfect!! Have been looking for a pen that won't bleed when top coat applied for ages so will give gel pens a try! Nice tip thanks. Ps love your work and love that your in the greatest of Great Britain toooo! Much love

  18. Heck no it's not cheating! And what's funny is just yesterday I was wanting to play around with a Cheshire Cat. I use Sharpie Fine tip Pens and it worked great for drawing on my nail! So intricate in a way that a brush cannot replicate.
    Beautiful paisleys!!

  19. This design is very nice! I started doing my nails when I was 12 years old, now I am 14 years old and I created my own blog! This design has been on my list forever, I really want to make this design one day, but I never knew how I was going to do this. Now I've seen this, and I can't wait to try it out! You're very inspirational for me and it would be very nice if you could check out my blog some day? I'm from Belgium so I don't think you would understand what I write, but the pictures and the nails are the most important things, right? (: xoxo
