Seven Deadly Sins Challenge, Week 1: Lust

Hey everyone! I have a wonderful new challenge for you today, I intended to post this on wednesday but obviously I couldn't because of my stupid broken laptop, so I shall post it on the last day of the week instead. The general idea for this challenge is that we either post once or twice a week, and each week has a different 'sin', this week is Lust. Because of exams I will only be posting once a week but there are plenty of bloggers who are posting more, check out the inlinks below.

The idea for this week was to do something you'd wanted to do really badly, and I've done most of the things I've wanted to do badly for a while, so I chose to copy a design I saw a few weeks ago and couldn't get out of my head instead, turtles! Unfortunately I cannot for the life of me find the original artist for these nails, I found an image on instagram with no credit given and no watermark, and uploading to google images didn't turn up anything unfortunately, so if you know who did these first please let me know so I can credit properly!

Here's the poster for the challenge, I'll probably alternate which day from each week I decide to do because there are a few that stand out to me.

Next week is Gluttony, and I cant wait to show you what I came up with!
What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

Models Own Artstix Duo Nail Polish Review + Nail Art

Hey everyone! I apologise for my hiatus due to my broken laptop, but I now have a wonderful new one so I should have quite a few posts coming up for you. This post was meant to be up last week but obviously I haven't been able to, so you can enjoy it now instead. Today I have two Models Own Artstix Duos to show you, Pink Stuff* and Nude Jack* which were released on the 17th April so are now available in boots and online for £6, which considering their polishes are usually £5 each is a really good deal for 2 colours!

The rest of the photos will be after the jump to avoid spamming you!

I don't just do my own nails!

Hey everyone! So, as I mentioned in my last post, I currently don't have a laptop. :( I have about 10 posts done for you but I can't edit them and I can't get them off my old laptop just yet. I was meant to be starting a nail challenge this week but unfortunately I can't, so I will hopefully be catching up next week if I can somehow get photoshop!

I've decided instead then that ill post the only thing I can from my phone, and that's other people's nails,  ones from my Instagram or ones about to go on my Instagram (@onenailtorulethemall) so here's a collection:

I really enjoy doing other people's nails, I know some people prefer to stick with their own but i'd love to do it professionally! If you want to know any colours just ask :)

Hope you like them! Let me know what you think in the comments.

Exciting news!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know that my images are now featured on the Barry M website for their new nail art pens! This is super exciting for me and I'm absolutely honoured to have had my swatches chosen.

You can see the rest of my swatches here along with a full review of the pens.
In other news, my laptop has broken, so whilst I did have some great posts for you planned for the next few days, I cant post them because I dont have access to them, I should hopefully be getting a new laptop on tuesday and I'll try my best to post soon after that, but I'll need to get photoshop set up and stuff.

I have a few designs on my instagram which I've done on other people that I was thinking of grouping together as a post, would you be interested in seeing that? Because I can upload that from a uni computer (like I am now). Let me know in the comments!

Indian inspired?

Hey everyone! Today I have a design which came from nothing. My original idea for this design was to use my new striping tape* from Born Pretty Store to create a half and half design. I really like this striping tape as it's easy to use and doesn't tear like other tape I've used, you can get it here for $1.90 with free shipping, and if you use my code KHL91 you can get 10% off! I also wanted to use my Gold Nail Art Pen* from Models Own, which I knew would be great for an intricate design as it has a thin line and is opaque, so I decided to combine the two by adding a paisley design (albeit done badly) and a line design. When that was done I decided it needed a little extra so I added some white dots using acrylic paint and a small detailing brush. But looking at it now I feel it has kind of an indian feel about it, what do you think?

The base for this design was Viva La Nails, Lovely Colour in 'Tutti Frutti'*, which is a brilliantly opaque pink polish. I have a lot of pinks in my collection (waay too many) and this extra one is definitely a great addition! The other base colours were Essence 'That's What I Mint' and Essence 'L.O.L'

What do you think of this design? Let me know in the comments

Dont forget to use my code KHL91 for 10% off at Born Pretty Store

*some products in this post were sent to me for review. My views are never influenced by anything other than the truth

Then and Now: Week 16

Hey everyone! Recently there's been a new 'tag' on instagram called 'themanithatstarteditall' and I was 'tagged' to do it. So I decided to incorporate it into this week's Then and Now post. So today's design were the first nails I ever took a picture of, and I remember that I was super proud of them. I have created a tutorial for this design so please let me know if you want to see it! As always, the 'Then' post will be after the jump!

Then and Now: Week 15

Hey everyone! It's been a while since my last 'Then and Now' post. I think until the end of may (when my exams finish) I probably wont be doing it every week, but I shall try my best! This week's post I wasn't actually going to do, because I really hated the original nails and I remember taking them off after about 10 minutes, but I decided it would be a good test of how far my skills have come if I could make the same design look good, and I think it worked because I really like how they came out, I think they ended up looking a lot like buttons actually. As always the 'then' post will be after the jump

Pop out nails

Hey everyone! I dont really know what to call these nails, so 'pop out' shall have to do. Unless you have any better ideas? I was inspired to do these by Nancy Mc Nails, mine are nowhere near as good as hers but I aspire to be as good as her one day! (Teach me your secrets Nancy!) I love this new pink I got from Very Emily and I really wanted to use it, so I put the two wishes together and created these.

I originally did these shiny as Nancy does, but I didn't feel like they were photographing very well so I added a matte top coat (any excuse, ey?), but I've included a shiny picture for you to compare and tell me which you prefer.

To create these I started with a base of Essence - Free Hugs which is a brilliant vibrant pink and I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more of it on the blog. Then I added China Glaze - Liquid Leather around the edges with a small paintbrush, and any mistakes I just went over in pink. Then I added a line of MASH - White Nail Polish, and topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite. And then to make it matte I added MASH - Matte top coat (which is half price on their website at the moment by the way!).

Here's the design shiny, which do you prefer?

Guest post from Just Tis Ems

Hey everyone, happy april fools day (or easter monday) you may have noticed that I didn't manage to post my Then and Now post last night, but I shall do in the next couple of days and I really hope you like it. Also, yesterday was my blogiversary! I added an update to the post when I realised but stay tuned for a giveaway to celebrate, it wont be much but I hope you all enjoy it!

Anyway,  today I have a guest post from the lovely Emmie from Just Tis Ems who is a very dear friend of mine and I hope you love her nails as much as I do!

These nails were inspired by this dress I loved the print on it and at first I was going to copy the dress exactly but then I ended up changing it into a whole different print scene but tried to stick around with the colors.

The colours I used for this were Sinful Colors - Orange Cream, Pull Over, Winterberry. China Glaze - Sea Spray, Secret Peri-wink-le. CQ - Corduroy. Then I used a mixture of acrylic paints of brown and black to add the print part

Thanks so much Emmie, I hope you all like them! Let me know what you think in the comments,
