OPI - Alice Through The Looking Glass Collection Review + Swatches

Hey everyone! I'm so annoyed with myself because when I was getting ready to leave for work the other day I managed to cut my middle finger with my house keys. The cut is about an inch long and goes from my cuticle up my finger, which of course means it's going to be vet painful to use acetone for a while. It also means I'll likely have to photoshop it out as it's rather unsightly. I was halfway swatching a collection, but luckily it wasn't this one so I can at least post this for you today.

OPI's Alice Through The Looking Glass collection* contains some really gorgeous shades. I must admit I really love how this collection looks together, I think the polishes work really well alongside each other. I also think they fit quite well with the film, although I'd have loved to see something a bit more unusual and bright in there to fit in with the Hatter's crazy style. I really liked the film itself, I actually think I preferred it to the first film, so if you haven't seen it yet I'd recommend it. From the collection my favourite is probably The I's Have It* (baby blue) although it should probably be my namesake: Fearlessly Alice*. My least favourite is A Mirror Escape*, but more on that after the jump.

Fearlessly Alice* is a lovely bright blue. It's great to finally own a polish that shares a name with me, I seem to own plenty named after other people but this is a first - luckily it's a really pretty colour and not some mucky greeny brown or something! This was 2 easy coats, shown without topcoat as it dried fast and shiny without

Mad For Madness Sake* is a fun bright pink. This was 2 coats, but I found it to be quite patchy so I needed to be careful with application. Shown without topcoat as it dried fast and shiny without

What's The Hatter With You?* is a burgundy polish. This is a very typical OPI shade, but still a colour that I love time and time again. I expected this to be 2 coats as it's a darker shade but unfortunately I needed 3 as it was still slightly patchy in places. Shown without topcoat

A Mirror Escape* is a metallic gold shade with white and gold glitter pieces. As I mentioned previously, this is my least favourite in the collection. My only question is: why?! The glitter pieces make it look clumpy, I feel like it should have been one or the other. Not my kind of shade unfortunately. This was 2 coats, shown without topcoat to demonstrate the texture

The I's Have It* is a lovely baby blue. This is my favourite from the collection, because as you know baby blues instantly have my heart. This was 2 coats, I needed to be slightly careful with application to get it in 2 but it was possible. Shown without topcoat as it dried fast and shiny

I'm Gown For Anything* is a beautiful pale lilac shade. This was 2 really easy coats, I was surprised of the coverage of this for such a pale shade. This was a close contender for my favourite of the bunch. Shown without topcoat as it dried fast and shiny

Having A Big Head Day* is a bright letterbox red. This was 2 easy coats, shown without topcoat as it dried fast and shiny

And finally is Oh My Majesty* which is a stunning iridescent off-white. I found it really hard to capture this in a photograph, but I promise you that on the nail this is gorgeous. This would have been my favourite of the collection if it had dried a little bit quicker. I needed 3 thin coats for full coverage so as a result it took longer to dry, I definitely would use a fast dry topcoat when wearing again. However, this is shown without topcoat as it was shiny without, and it was only after photographing them that I realised they weren't dry!

I really love this collection, although A Mirror Escape* is really not my thing. I'd also like to point out how shiny they all are, without topcoat - I was very impressed.

What do you think? Do you own/want any of the collection? Let me know in the comments!

  2. I love textured polishes so A Mirror Escape would be perfect for me! Gorgeous collection. I had my eye on Oh My Majesty but I don't have time for 5 coats of polish (if you include base and topcoat). But then that might be the price to pay to get the effect!

  3. I love that this collection has your name in it and in one of the shades too, so much fun! I really love many of these, the cremes and pale shades especially are stunning. I agree with your thoughts on that weird glitter, just.. no! Haha!

  4. Sorry to hear about your cut. It's so annoying when anything happens to the swatching hand! I love this collection & would love them all, now only to win the lottery!

  5. I enjoyed this collection but not as much as I was expecting to. Beautiful swatches!

  6. Oh, honey - hope that cut heals fast :/
thank you for the lovely swatches - although the collection is nothing close to spectacular and original, they're still quite pretty polishes to wear :)

  7. Great swatches Alice! I need I'm Gown For Anything for sure. I hope your cut heals real fast.

  8. I have Fearlessly Alice and it is a STUNNER! I have I'm Gown for Anything too but just haven't worn it. I really want to get my hands on Oh My Majesty, it was just sold out when I bought the others. These are all lovely on you Alice and I agree that they all mesh so well!

  9. The golden is so weird, in a really bad way...
I love, LOVE Oh My Majesty!, too bad it's a limited edition, can't buy it anywhere now.((

I absolutely love to read all your comments, they make my day! So please do not hesitate to tell me what you think, but I ask that you don't link spam to your blog in your comment, thankyou so much everyone!
