OPI Muppets Most Wanted Spring 2014 Collection Swatches and Review

Hey everyone! Today I have a much overdue review, I've had these polishes for nearly a month now and I just havent had time to swatch them because of this horrible essay. But 5000 words and a lot of tears (only kidding) later, I am finally free to do some reviewing, until I start revising for exams at least! Today's review is the OPI Muppets Most Wanted Collection, which also doubles up as their 'soft' shades collection for this year. I'm reviewing four of the shades for you today, but there are eight overall in the collection.

First up is Gaining Mole-mentum*, which is gorgeous shard glitter. This was 1 coat over Graffiti Nails - Ice White. I did need some placement but it dried fast and shiny, although if you prefer a smooth surface you might want to add topcoat, which I haven't done in these photos

Next is Kermit Me To Speak*, this was 3 thin coats, but if you prefer quick opacity then you may be able to do one coat over black for a similar effect. It had good consistency and application, which is a compliment indeed coming from someone who usually dislikes the application of duo-chromes, and it dried fast and shiny

Next is Miss Piggy's Big Number*, this was 2 easy coats. The first coat was thin and I was worried that this would take quite a few coats to even out but after the second coat it was completely opaque. As you can see in the pictures, it is quite streaky, but that is to be expected with this kind of polish

And finally is my favourite from the four I received, I Love Applause*. You've already seen this gorgeous pale pink in my May Day nails, and it's the perfect shade for spring and summer. This was 4 very thin coats, which makes it sound thick on the nail, but it isn't at all, and I was definitely put off reading that before I tried it. It also dried super fast and shiny. This was without topcoat

Overall, I'm really impressed, as I always am with OPI polishes. You can feel the quality and they're definitely worth their high price tag. The punny names are going strong as always too!

What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Kermit me to speak reminds me of one of the newer Barry M shade and possibly a shade from Models Own Beetlejuice.

    1. I dont own the Models Own Beetlejuice polishes so I cant comment on that, but Kermit Me To Speak is darker than the recent Barry M polish. I didn't have time to compare them side by side but I promise it is!

  2. Kermit me to Speak looks similar to Just Spotted the Lizard and Miss Piggy's Big Number looks like Into The Night, both from The Amazing Spiderman collection a couple of years ago. nice enough colours but I really hate when brands create dupes for their own colours and just do rename.

  4. 'I love applause' is gorgeous. Added to my wishlist!
I do find OPI products to be easier at getting an even, opaque finish without drowning the nail in polish!
